Business Development Manager - Freelance 4 a Exciting New Kids Brand

The company The launch of Australia's first premium baby and children's wear online marketplace and associated brands. Changing the game with a fresh and high quality number of baby and children's lines also accompanied with physical distribution to independent retailers across Australia.


The companies launching this new business project collectively have 50+ years in ecommerce and babyswear brand building and distribution experience. The leader in our respective fields, we are innovating again with the launch of a new and innovative retail proposal within this babyswear and kids category. 


Who you are

Passionate and self-motivated.

You get excited about working with a product in a fun category (babyswear/kids) but most importantly with a great product / pricing proposition. Able to offer independent store owners a stronger margin than competitor products at a higher quality, with effective branding, customer service and fulfilment.


Fashion Forward

You are a fashion forward individual aware of the top brands.

You are familiar with baby and kids wear fashion trends.


Customer Experience

Willing to go the extra mile to offer that extra professional service.

Are passionate about delivering a unique and personal customer experience with all your interactions.


The role 

Develop and manage Wholesale accounts for Silver Petals brands (Sales focussed)

- List development, phone introductions, email follow up, appointment and presentation of collection, order taking, order follow up. 

- 70% of work can be completed 'at home office' 

- 20% store visits/presentations

- 10% management / staff meetings in person or via videoconference

Other business development tasks for inclusion within 'at home work time' 

  1. Source and collaborate with similar brands for drop shipping under Silver Petals
  2. Update Products online both description and photos.
  3. Project manage all partners for Online Channel
    1. JV Partner
    2. Digital Marketing Partner
    3. Content Partner
    4. Website Development Partner
  4. Coordinate Product Photoshoots
  5. Arrange Showings for Buyers
  6. Find out about relevant exhibitions in AU and NZ.
  7. Help Exhibit Range in AU and NZ.

Work closely with BDM of Anne Michelle Fashions to develop ranges for future release.


Qualification and Experience

  1. Online Channel Experience
  2. Sales experience for New Brands
  3. Physical Wholesale sales experience


This position is either based in Sydney or possibly at home anywhere in Australia. 

Your background 

You are a proactive, passionate sales leader with a proven track record of target overachievement. Your sales capabilities are backed by a commitment to service excellence, and your leadership skills immediately your people at ease. 

You will have: 

  • Excellent working knowledge of managing independent wholesale / physical sales activities to independent retail stores 
  • Strong leadership, communication (written & oral), people management, and written organisation (of orders) 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to network at all levels of business 
  • Proven sales skills & ability to increase conversion. 
  • Strong customer service skills, with able to manage difficult customers effectively 
  • Able to master a complex, fast changing environment
